Why Sunraysia Community Health Services (SCHS)?

SCHS are endorsed service providers of the WorkerHealth Checks program.  Service providers have been endorsed based on their ability and experience in providing high quality health check services to employers.  To become endorsed, service providers are requried to demonstrate their level of accreditation and qualifications, as well as the experience of key personnel.

All endorsed service providers are required to complete a competency based training program developed for WorkHealth and delivered in partnership with RMIT University.

Service providers will be endorsed for a set period of two years.  During this time, providers will be monitored to ensure the service delivery standards set by WorkSafe are consistently met.

What if we have already had WorkerHealth Checks?

Workplace grants are available to employers who have already offered WorkerHealth Checks to the majority of workers in the last two years - as a foundation for ongoing workplace health promotion activities.

Workplace health promotion grants are one-off funding opportunities for employers to build or expand programs that promote worker health and encourage healthy behaviours in the workplace.

SCHS can assist employers with their application for the grant and provide corporate wellness solutions that meet the grant guidelines.

The WorkHealth program will fund workplace health promotion activities that:

  • encourage healthy behaviours and improve the health and well-being of people at work; and
  • create a supportive work environment that makes healthy choices easy for workers and encourages them to maintain healthy behaviours in the future

To be eligible to apply for a workplace grant, you must:

  • Have offered WorkerHealth Checks to the majority of your workers in the past two years
  • Be a Victorian business or have Victorian based operations
  • Pay a WorkSafe Injury Insurance premium or be an approved WorkSafe self-insurer

Successful workplace health promotions programs are designed around the needs of workers and the goals of the business - so no two programs will be the same. To develop a program an employer may be guided by workforce needs or potentially informed by previous health checks which flag health risks.
